Nathan Sawaya - Yellow Sculpture

Last weekend, the California Science Center premiered its newest exhibit – the Art of the Brick! Featuring over 100 works of art created from over one million LEGO bricks by artist Nathan Sawaya, a former corporate lawyer. My daughter and I were invited to a special viewing for media last Sunday and we were SO impressed with the scale and design of the artwork. It’s truly a must-see! A few years back, my parents went to the Louvre … [Read more...]

Last Thursday, I was probably a 2 or 3 – somewhat concerned but I didn’t give it too much thought since it wasn’t in Los Angeles County (yet) and I practice good hygiene. However, now that there are 6 cases in LA County, I would say that I’m slightly worried at about a 5 or 6. There’s a fine line between being careful and letting … [Read more...]

Row House Granada Hills - Studio Rowers

Row House Granada Hills is a boutique fitness studio that opened in December 2019. Their official Grand Opening party was on Saturday, February 8th and I happily attended it. During the event, I met with Trevor, the General Manager. He gave me the rundown of the fitness studio and I was very intrigued. I’m familiar with rowing as an exercise, having worked out at another studio that uses a water rowing machine as a small part of their … [Read more...]

Gus's BBQ - Restaurant

Earlier this month, Gus’s Barbecue opened a new location in the San Fernando Valley. Up until now, I had not been familiar with Gus’s Barbecue, but I quickly learned that the original South Pasadena restaurant has a big following! Since 1946, Gus’s has been serving up traditional Southern cooking and finger-licking BBQ. The restaurant is in a new shopping center called The Vineyards at Porter Ranch, located between Whole Foods and a Nordstrom … [Read more...]
