Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Knott’s Berry Farm’s Ghost Town

Posted on July 28, 2016 | Filed Under: Local Events | Tags: Anaheim theme parks, Ghost Town Alive!, Knott's Berry Farm | 30 Comments

Knott’s Berry Farm is celebrating Ghost Town’s 75th Anniversary this year. With summer winding down, I can’t think of a better way to commemorate our summer vacation then by visiting Knott’s!

The last time my family visited Knott’s Berry Farm was in the springtime during their annual Boysenberry Festival. At that time, GhostRider was closed for a nine month restoration project. I’m happy to report that it is back in business & better than ever!

GhostRider has been refurbished with a new track & many of the curves & banks have been re-profiled to deliver a smooth, yet thrilling ride. It’s the fastest, tallest & longest wooden roller coaster on the West Coast!

Since my daughter’s school resumes in late August, we plan on hitting up Knott’s soon. There are a lot of fun rides & activities that we will want to visit at Knott’s, like Calico Mine Ride, which is her favorite!

I’m especially interested in checking out the seasonal entertainment attractions like:

  • Ghost Town Alive! (ends on September 5th)
  • The all-new Wild West Stunt Show: Frontier Feats of Wonder
  • Circus of Wonder (ends August 21): This is a new nighttime show featuring a circus troupe. These entertainers will give you thrills, chills, music & laughs!
  • Blockbuster Beagle!…On Ice (ends August 21): Snoopy & the Peanuts gang entertain you inside the Charles M. Schultz Theatre.

So what exactly is “Ghost Town Alive!”? It’s a way to experience the Old West town in a fun way by participating in activities like trying your luck at a game of cards with the sneaky Sheriff, visiting the Livery Stable to meet the friendly equestrian team of horses or saving the day alongside courageous cowboys!

Of course a visit to Knott’s Berry Farm would not be complete without checking out the newly restored Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant. My mouth starts to salivate just thinking about their fried chicken, mashed potatoes & corn! This is where you’ll find me at dinnertime during our next visit. 🙂

Visit the Knott’s Berry Farm website for hours, location & ticket prices. Speaking of tickets, how would you like to win a 4-pack of tickets to Knott’s Berry Farm so that you can experience Ghost Town Alive! before it ends on September 5th? Well here is your chance!
