I remember watching Beauty and the Beast (the animated version) & being blown away by the music, the storyline & the characters. Belle is my favorite Disney princess of all time – she’s smart, loves to read, fiercely independent & protective of her father. So when I heard that Disney was recreating the movie as a live-action film, I was thrilled at the idea!
Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action retelling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.
The live-action film has a dream cast that stars Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Oscar® winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s eccentric, but lovable father; Josh Gad as Lefou, Gaston’s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Golden Globe® nominee Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, the feather duster; six-time Tony Award® winner Audra McDonald as Madame Garderobe, the wardrobe; Oscar nominee Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and two-time Academy Award® winner Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.
To celebrate the movie’s release, here are some fun Beauty and the Beast coloring pages!
These free printable sheets are just the perfect item to keep your little ones busy until the March 17th release. Just make sure that you click this link so that you can access the PDF file for printing. There are 10 coloring pages in all!
The film features the voice talent of Luke Evans as Gaston & Josh Gad as Lefou (Gaston’s wingman). Your kids may recognize Josh’s voice as Olaf from Disney’s Frozen.
The Beast is played by Dan Stevens, who you may remember from the first few seasons of Downton Abbey.
I don’t know about you, but I cannot wait for this movie to come out! I’m looking forward to hearing Celine Dion sing an all-new original song, “How Does A Moment Last Forever.” I also want to hear how Ariana Grande & John Legend sound in their duet of “Beauty and the Beast.”
“Beauty and the Beast” opens in theaters on Friday, March 17th!

I absolutely loved the live animation of Beauty and the Beast. She happens to be my favorite princess and I pretty much have convinced my almost two year old that Belle is the best princess as well!
