Editor’s Note: As of July 2020, Spa Lé La in Studio City is closed.
Spa Lé La is a new spa in Studio City which opened up last month. Now you may think, another spa in the San Fernando Valley? The difference (and it’s a major one) is that this spa caters to mommies.
I attended a media preview of Spa Lé La in February, where I got to take a tour of the spa, as well as mingle with other mommy bloggers & influencers.
The room that got the biggest “wow” from the crowd of moms during the tour was the bath, where you can take a long & luxurious soak in complete privacy (away from children with prying eyes & hands that constantly knock on the door).
There are treatment rooms where you can get facials, a nap room where you can have some quality shut-eye in one of their deluxe resting beds (away from screaming children), plus an area for massages, manis or pedis.
Speaking of children, one of the neat things about Spa Lé La is that they have complimentary onsite babysitting. This is a HUGE thing folks, I mean huuuge! Imagine wanting to go to the spa but you have to make arrangements with a sitter before you can figure out what date you can book your appointment. Those days are long gone with Spa Lé La because your child is eligible to be supervised by an onsite staff of nannies/caregivers. Kids will play in a fun, clean & beautifully decorated playroom while mommies get their spa on!
This little girl was happily playing during the media preview event while I chatted with her mommy.
So how does it work? First you check in using an app called KidCheck. You can list your children’s names, ages, medical info (like nut or food allergies) & other stuff. You will receive a buzzer (similar to that beeper thing you’d get waiting at a restaurant) which will go with you into your spa treatments. Your child’s name tag will correspond with the buzzer number that you are issued. So if your child cries, Spa Lé La staff will do their best to distract them, but will buzz you if you are needed.
After the media preview party, I was able to book an awesome treatment at Spa Lé La. When I arrived on a rainy Sunday morning, I was offered up a choice of beverage (I opted for hot tea), then changed into a super comfy robe & led to the Infrared Sauna room.
I had never been inside a sauna before & so for the next 25 minutes, I was in such a peaceful, zoned out state (except for the 2 minutes where I grabbed my phone from outside & snapped a photo or two). I wasn’t sure how I would like the heat, but it felt really good. Also I had been suffering from a slight chest cold, so in my mind the heat really helped get out those toxins & open up my lungs. (This is in no way an endorsement & if you have health issues, please consult your doctor before trying out a sauna.)
After the sauna treatment, I had a lovely facial. (Shout out to Marla who gave me the best enzyme facial!)
The hour & a half that I was at Spa Lé La was so blissful. I definitely want to come back again (with or without my kiddo)! For more information, visit the Spa Lé La website here. Don’t forget to check out their Facebook page for the latest updates!
So tell me, what part of Spa Lé La would you most like to try?
