Game Day Snacks Featuring Festive Chickpeas

Posted on February 5, 2024 | Filed Under: Food, Reviews | Tags: chickpea snacks, Festive Chickpeas, garbanzo halves snacks, snack board | 13 Comments

Who doesn’t love to snack on munchies while watching an award show or a big football game? Personally, I love charcuterie boards, aka snack boards or grazing boards, because you can fill it with anything you want – from fruits, cheeses, meats and crackers. I was recently introduced to a crunchy, yummy chickpea snack from Festive Chickpeas that takes my cheese board to the next level!

Festive Chickpeas - sample box

Festive Chickpeas have taken the humble chickpea and elevated it with flavors that pack a punch! These tasty snacks come in six flavors: Sea Salt, Mild Spicy, Fiery Spicy, Ranch, Honey BBQ and Sour Cream. The snack is packed with fiber and iron, contain 10 grams of protein and are non-GMO, soy-free, gluten-free and 100% vegan.

For inspiration, I consulted my snack board cookbook, which you may remember from my 2023 Holiday Gift Guide.

Then I bought the ingredients and spread them out on my kitchen table.

Ingredients for Snack Board

The great thing about grazing boards is that you can add basically whatever you want. If you want to keep it vegetarian or vegan (since these garbanzo bean snacks are vegan), then add fruit, veggies, etc. I’m all about the cheese and crackers, but I made sure to add in some mini cucumbers, edamame and olives to round it out.

Now you might be thinking, “Is that all you can do with Festive Chickpeas?” You can garnish your favorite salad with them in place of croutons.

You can also sprinkle them on top of soup for added texture!

Thanks, Festive Chickpeas for sending me these samples so that I could create my own snack board for the big game! As an avid pop culture enthusiast, I’ll be making another cheese board with these snacks for next month’s Academy Awards show. 🙂

Watching games is not complete without some great-tasting munchies. I love chickpeas and I’d often make crunchy chickpeas in the air fryer and flavor them with spices.
