Earlier this month, we drove from our home in the San Fernando Valley to the Central Coast to visit Carmel and Monterey. We had a great time, and you can read all about our adventure here. It was while we were driving back home, we decided to stop in Paso Robles for lunch!
After finding a parking spot in front of the Downtown City Park, we headed over to Red Scooter Deli where we noshed on sandwiches, soup and a breakfast burrito. If you like desserts, don’t sleep on the lemon bar – it’s delicious!
@realmomofsfv Happy FoodieFriday! Have you visited PasoRobles, CA? Thinking about our recent visit and decided to use this post to highlight our foodie finds from last week. @Red Scooter Deli has delicious sandwiches, soups and breakfast burritos! Although we were full from lunch, there’s always room for dessert! We headed next door to #SLOsweets and got a scoop of gelato! 🍨 It hit the spot on a warm afternoon. 😋 @Travel Paso #TravelPaso #RedScooterDeli
One thing to note about Red Scooter Deli is that there are two locations in Paso Robles. We ate at the original location on Pine Street. However, there is a second location (on the corner of 6th and Spring Street) with a fantastic large patio. So if you have a big group and would like to sit outdoors – that’s the place to go! 🙂
Although we were stuffed, there’s always room for dessert, so we went next door to SLO Sweets for some gelato!
Before we headed back home to SoCal, we checked out Studios on the Park, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing a creative and educational experience to students in the local community.
Their “Earth Gowns: Earth, Air, Fire, Water” exhibit, which explores the four elements in dress form, is amazing! Now the exhibit closes on August 31st, but there are several galleries displaying artwork from other artists to check out.
I also got to meet with Anne Laddon, founder of Studios on the Park, and Jordan Hockett, Operations Manager & Curator for the Studio.
Our visit to Paso Robles was short and sweet. Now that we had a ‘taste’ of it, we can’t wait to come back and explore the town later! Thanks, Red Scooter Deli and Travel Paso for having us!

This looks like a fun day! And what a cool exhibit. I’d love to visit one day. It looks like a fabulous town.

Your afternoon in Paso Robles totally took me back, stopping for a totally unexpected gelato and then checking out that Earth Gowns exhibit? So much more than a highway pit stop!

Oh wow this place looks like a wonderful day out. I need to add it to my list in future
The Earth gowns are such a cool idea! I like the color blue they used for the tool.
Although short it sounds like fun!! There is always room for gelato in my opinion.
Your spontaneous stop in Paso Robles turned what might have been just a drive into a mini-adventure, and it is pure magic with gelato.
I loved this post! I’m a big foodie, so the food has me sold! I love that there is a shop where I can buy sweets! I have a huge sweet tooth! You’re right! There is always room for sweets! Lol. I hope there are smoothies or slushies there! I love those!
