Crazy Rich Asians Book and Magazine Cover

Crazy Rich Asians opens in theaters tomorrow & this kooky semi-broke Filipina (me) cannot wait to see it! Usually I only blog about movies when I’ve seen an advanced screening, but there is so much excitement in the air about this film that I’m throwing my hat in the ring & writing about it. Diversity, representation, inclusion – these are some of the buzzwords that Hollywood has bandied about for the last few years. Yet … [Read more...]

Dog Days Eva Longoria_Rob Corddry_Elizabeth Caro

Dog Days opens tomorrow & it’s a sweet summer film. This romantic comedy is like a love letter to LA with fantastic shots of Grand Park in DTLA & Griffith Park, as well as an ode to how dogs can bring joy to our lives. Last week I watched an early screening of the movie, plus I had the opportunity to interview the director & actors of the film. From acclaimed production company LD Entertainment (The Zookeeper's Wife, Jackie, … [Read more...]

Friday Feels Lobster Roll

Yay, it's Friday! I had every intention of writing a Thursday Thoughts post this week but things got busy. So today's post will be similar in style & tone but entitled Friday Feels. The past two weeks have been busy - both personally (fun family time) & for the blog. It's been exciting & tiring but I'm grateful for the opportunities. Also, I've gotten a lot of steps on my Fitbit & my shoes are getting a workout! Paley … [Read more...]

Turtle Tale poster

Recently I was invited to a Turtle Tale event to support the DVD, Digital and On Demand release of Turtle Tale: Live-Action Feature. My daughter & I arrived at Reptacular Animals in the mountains above Sylmar (a Los Angeles suburb in the San Fernando Valley) for an afternoon of fun featuring hands-on interaction with turtles, tortoises & turtle crafts. First up…we met Jungle Jane of Reptacular Animals who schooled us in the … [Read more...]
