Yay, it’s Friday! I had every intention of writing a Thursday Thoughts post this week but things got busy. So today’s post will be similar in style & tone but entitled Friday Feels.
The past two weeks have been busy – both personally (fun family time) & for the blog. It’s been exciting & tiring but I’m grateful for the opportunities. Also, I’ve gotten a lot of steps on my Fitbit & my shoes are getting a workout!
Paley Center
Last month I visited The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills. I wanted to view the amazing costume collection for the Netflix show “The Crown.” I’m so glad that I got to take it in before it closed on July 29. I posted a few more pics on my Facebook page here.
Also at The Paley Center is their Shark Week: 30 Years of Shark ‘N’ Awe exhibit. It’s so fun & if you or your family are into sharks, then it’s a must-see. Originally it was going to close at the end of July, but thankfully it has been extended through August 12th!
Dave & Buster’s Northridge
Back in the Valley, I was fortunate to attend a media preview of Dave & Buster’s Northridge. It’s open now, so definitely check it out for their food, drinks, arcade & VR games or as a place to hang out & watch sports. Everyone keeps talking about how malls are “dying” so it’s great that D&B moved into the old Sports Authority location at Northridge Fashion Center since it gives families a place to go (as an alternative to an outdoor park) when it’s too hot in the summer. Plus it will bring a couple hundred jobs into the area, according to their press release.
This week I interviewed the owner’s of Mommy’s Retreat which is a Tarzana-based salon. You can read all about it under my Real Moms of the SFV tab. The salon has an awesome kids area that is supervised, so you can bring your kids with you (eliminating the need for a sitter), while you get glam. They have a summer special going on.
Over the weekend, I took my parents out for brunch to celebrate their wedding anniversary. I had the best Lobster Roll in my life! The bread was packed with chunks of lobster meat. I was in heaven!
That’s From Disneyland!
Located in Sherman Oaks is the That’s From Disneyland! pop-up exhibit. It will be on display for the month of August. You can read more about it here in my recap. If you’re a Disney fan, then you’ll want to visit. Seeing the Disneyland memorabilia laid out in a 20,000 square foot pop-up exhibit brought back a lot of memories for me & I’m sure it will for you.
I’m sure glad it’s almost the weekend. Do you have any fun plans coming up? I’d love to hear from you, so feel free to share in the comments section below. As for me, I’ve got a fitness event & a movie junket to attend. So you’ll hear about it all in the coming weeks! 😉
Happy Friday!
