Goodbye Christopher Robin Gleeson-Tilston in the Woods

The film "Goodbye Christopher Robin" reveals the story of the Milne family & how Winnie-the-Pooh was created. A.A. Milne wrote the first volume of stories about Winnie-the-Pooh in 1926. In the decades to come, countless children would grow up to read about Winnie-the-Pooh’s adventures, watch his (licensed) films on the big screen & play with the cuddly stuffed animal bear. What most people don't know, including myself, is that … [Read more...]

The Broad DTLA Crosswalk

The Broad Museum is located in downtown Los Angeles. It’s a very unique & beautiful building, situated on the corner of Grand Avenue & 2nd Street. Now I’ve been to this area of DTLA a few times in the last year, having visited the Walt Disney Concert Hall across the street. However, this was my first trip to the area since the colorful crosswalk (Couleur Additive) was painted by artist Carlos Cruz-Diez. Once we got into the … [Read more...]

Victoria and Abdul Laughing

Victoria & Abdul is a movie “Based on real events…mostly.” That’s the opening line of the film, which is typed on the screen & a great way to intro the movie (IMHO – but more on that later). At the beginning of the movie, you see Abdul Karim’s humble beginnings as a clerk in Agra. At the other end of the spectrum is Queen Victoria with a royal staff & a team of servants, who assist her with everything from getting dressed in the … [Read more...]

Captain Underpants Cupcake

Recently I was invited to a Captain Underpants event to support the Blu-ray & DVD release of “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie.” My family was amazed as we walked into a warehouse in downtown Los Angeles & inside it was transformed into a fun carnival atmosphere! There was yummy food that was so festive & fun! As much as I encouraged my daughter to eat her veggies… (I mean – how cute is this?!) My kiddo … [Read more...]

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Banner

“The LEGO NINJAGO Movie” comes out in theaters this Friday, September 22. If you have elementary school-aged children, then chances are you’ve heard them talking about LEGO NINJAGO or you’ve seen them play with the NINJAGO LEGO sets. You may even have seen an episode or two of the popular LEGO NINJAGO TV show that airs on Cartoon Network (it has been out for several seasons). The good news is that even if you’ve never heard of LEGO … [Read more...]
