After a wonderful but busy Thanksgiving holiday with family, I was ready to have a fun girls night out! This past Sunday I met up with some of my fellow SoCal Lady Bloggers at the Nail Garden in Valencia. When I first arrived, I was greeted warmly by the salon manager. I was pleasantly surprised when they offered me coffee, latte or tea - what a nice welcome! At my local salon, I'm lucky if I get a cup of water from their dispenser, … [Read more...]

Flashlight Friends – Product Review

Posted on November 5, 2013 | Filed Under: Mommy Stuff, Reviews | Tags: As Seen On TV, Flashilight Friends, glow-in-the-dark, stuffed animal, unicorn | 2 Comments

My daughter loves anything that lights up or glows. When she was a baby, she had a light-up turtle that projected stars onto the ceiling of her room. As a toddler, she loved to watch her shoes light-up when she stomped her feet on the ground. Now that she’s older, her love has evolved into pillows that glow-in-the-dark & also a rather large plastic ladybug that contains glow-in-the-dark multicolored beads. Her latest obsession is … [Read more...]

Getting Back to Basics with “Retro Baby”

When my daughter was born (back in 2006), I tried to glean as much information possible from various baby websites to educate myself on all things related to the baby. I also read some of the books in the "What to Expect…" series but I ended up feeling overwhelmed with so much information. How I had longed for a simple, easy-to-read book that gave helpful advice on how to bond with your infant/toddler. Well moms, have I got a book for you! … [Read more...]

Disclosure: I was invited to an event at Santa Anita Park along with a select group of bloggers – all opinions are my own. On a beautiful Friday in September, I ventured out to Arcadia. For those of you who read my blog, you’ll know that I had been out to Santa Anita Park earlier this summer for a food festival. However this was going to be my first time at the races! America’s Best Racing had invited me to be a part of the opening day … [Read more...]

Disclosure: The wonderful folks at SKECHERS invited me down to their headquarters last month to learn about the SKECHERS Pier to Pier Friendship Walk. I was treated to a luncheon provided by Fresh Brothers & received a gift card for a free pair of SKECHERS shoes. In return, I got to meet the awesome people at The Friendship Circle of the South Bay. No compensation was received for this post & all opinions are my own. On a sunny day in … [Read more...]

This past weekend, Elisabeth Wolf held a book reading & signing for her book Lulu in La La Land. I had heard about the book & thought it would be a perfect activity for me & my daughter to attend. On a warm afternoon, we headed out to the Barnes & Noble book store at the Americana in Glendale. Lulu in La La Land is an adorable story about a young girl who lives in Bel Air & doesn't feel like she fits in. The book is set-up … [Read more...]
