Friday Feels Lobster Roll

Yay, it's Friday! I had every intention of writing a Thursday Thoughts post this week but things got busy. So today's post will be similar in style & tone but entitled Friday Feels. The past two weeks have been busy - both personally (fun family time) & for the blog. It's been exciting & tiring but I'm grateful for the opportunities. Also, I've gotten a lot of steps on my Fitbit & my shoes are getting a workout! Paley … [Read more...]

Real Moms of the SFV - Mommy's Retreat photo of owners

Last month I visited Mommy’s Retreat, a unique beauty salon located in Tarzana. Not only is it a full-service beauty salon, but it offers two supervised kids play areas - making this the perfect place to get glam for busy Valley moms! Earlier this summer, I met Hermine Abkarian at the SoCalMoms Great Big Family Play Day. Hermine & her team had a booth at the children’s festival. The concept of Mommy’s Retreat sounded really cool & we … [Read more...]

Dave and Busters Entrance

At long last, Dave & Buster’s has come to the San Fernando Valley! For years, Valley people have been trekking over the hill to the closest one at Hollywood & Highland. Finally, we have one of our own! Dave & Buster’s is located in the Northridge Fashion Center, in a space that previously held a Borders bookstore & a sporting goods store. Last week I attended a media preview of the brand-new Dave & Buster’s in … [Read more...]

Posted on July 24, 2018 | Filed Under: Food | Tags: Century City fried chicken, Crack Shack, Richard Blais, Top Chef, Westfield Century City restaurants | 6 Comments

The Crack Shack recently opened in Century City. I had heard SO many good things about The Crack Shack, so I couldn’t wait to try it out. As a big fan of Bravo TV’s Top Chef, I have been tracking Richard Blais’ career for years, seeing his transformation from TV chef contestant to cookbook author & now a celebrity chef & restauranteur! I decided to visit the restaurant on opening day. Mind you, I was also there to check out the … [Read more...]
