For those of you who have been following my blog, you’ll know how much of a fan I am of Lemonade. This restaurant is known for their healthy cuisine made with fresh ingredients & of course their delicious lemonades! I frequently dine at the ones in Studio City & Westlake Village. A couple of weeks ago, I got to sample some seasonal dishes at their newest location in Toluca Lake.
Ordering your food at Lemonade is very easy. It’s served “cafeteria-style” so all you have to do is grab your tray, stand in line (which moves relatively quickly) & pick out your food. The hardest thing for me to decide is which food items to pick because everything looks so good!
For this lunchtime outing, I wanted to sample Lemonade’s latest seasonal items. My first pick was the Tuscan Kale Salad with nectarines, Maui onion & hazelnuts. The sweet nectarines really made the kale salad taste delicious!
The other seasonal item I sampled was the New Mexican Chili Roasted Butternut Squash with white corn. The white corn in this butternut squash dish gave it a crunchy, satisfying taste & when you add in the New Mexican chilis – yum!
The Persian Cucumber Salad with sofrito, olives & feta cheese was the last seasonal item that I sampled. I enjoyed this salad, but then again I am a sucker for anything with feta cheese! 🙂
Or course my meal wouldn’t be complete without eating some of my fave dishes. Whenever I eat at Lemonade, there are two dishes that I always have to get. The first one is the Red Quinoa salad. I absolutely love the nutty, crunchy texture of quinoa. Other standouts include the Red Curry Salmon & Watermelon Radish Salad with Ahi Tuna. Oh & that second dish that I always get? It’s the Avocado Salad with cherry tomatoes.
Lemonade has 14 locations in Southern California. The Toluca Lake location has been open for about 6 weeks. It’s on the corner of Riverside Drive & Valley Street. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend checking it out!
For those who want to sample some of Lemonade’s dishes but aren’t able to visit one of their locations, then perhaps you’d like to create those dishes in your own home! The Lemonade Cookbook was written by Chef & Founder Alan Jackson alongside JoAnn Cianciulli. There are over 120 recipes including their popular marketplace salads, unique sandwiches & slow simmered stews. Of course this cookbook wouldn’t be complete without recipes of their famous lemonades & popular sweets, like their pistachio macarons!
Wouldn’t you like to get your hands on this cookbook so that you could make your own Lemonade dishes?
