Winter Wonderfest will debut this Saturday, December 17 at Discovery Cube Los Angeles. For three snow-filled weeks, Discovery Cube LA (a popular children’s educational museum located near the Hansen Dam Recreational Area in the San Fernando Valley) will feature snow play, snow tubing, snow science & MORE! Winter Wonderfest offers kids the chance to learn about the “Science of Snow” with interactive exhibits featuring over one hundred tons of real snow.
At Discovery Cube LA’s Winter Wonderfest, you’ll be able to:
- Discover how snow is formed through hands-on activities.
- Learn the science behind sledding down ice ramps.
- Put your “snow knowledge” into action while sliding down a 75-foot long ramp on inner tubes.
- Play in real snow!
Kids will be provided with tools to play with the snow & build snow castles, snowmen, snow angels & all kinds of other frosty creations!
This holiday exhibit will offer thrills, chills & fun for children of all ages!
However it will also give kids the opportunity to learn science at snow learning stations like: Animal Adaptations to the Cold, Three States of Water & Cloud in a Bottle. Winter Wonderfest creates an entertaining way to approach education through a day of family bonding during the holiday season. It’s a win-win for everyone!
Discovery Cube’s Winter Wonderfest will be featured at both the Los Angeles & Orange County campuses from December 17 through January 8, 2017 (except Christmas Day). My daughter is so excited about it that we’ve already made plans to attend on opening day at Discovery Cube LA! Please note that Winter Wonderfest is a special exhibit that requires a separate admission ticket. Tickets can be purchased at http://la.discoverycube.org/exhibits/winter-wonderfest/.
Visit the Discovery Cube LA’s website for info on general admission tickets, hours & directions. Don’t forget to check out their Facebook page to get the latest updates!

Have any of you gone yet? We did, and were hugely disappointed. None of the pictures in this post are an accurate representation of the place, in fact two of the photos are not from the event at all! Small, crowded, super long lines, and overpriced. NOT worth it.

Please note that my original blog post contained stock photography provided by Discovery Cube LA. I believe those photos were taken at the 2015 Discovery Cube Orange County’s Winter Wonderfest. Since my write-up & giveaway were posted prior to the Winter Wonderfest Grand Opening at Discovery Cube Los Angeles, I used stock photography to highlight what would be provided. I have since replaced those photos with my own personal pictures from my attendance at DCLA.
The cost to attend Winter Wonderfest is $7 at the door. I think that is a phenomenal price considering some of the other LA-area snow attractions cost much more.
Thanks for stopping by my blog & checking out my write-up.
