For most of us, especially those who live states that are on “lockdown” mode like California and New York – we are sheltering in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This means working from home and for those with children, homeschooling (or distance learning) for the first time.
During this unprecedented time and in honor of Women’s History Month, I have partnered with Lionsgate to offer codes for a digital movie giveaway for the following films:
- Bombshell
- Judy
- The Spy Who Dumped Me
Bombshell
The Oscar-nominated story of three Fox News employees who stood up to Roger Ailes, the chairman and CEO of Fox News. Watch as these three ambitious and strong-willed women (played by Charlize Theron, Margot Robbie, and Nicole Kidman) risk everything to bring their story to light.
Bombshell is available now on Digital, Blu-ray™ Combo Pack and DVD. This empowering drama recommended by critics and audiences alike was the Oscar® winner for Best Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling (Kazu Hiro, Anne Morgan, and Vivian Baker). Look how Charlize Theron was transformed into Megyn Kelly with makeup and prosthetics!
Judy
Thirty years after rising to global stardom in The Wizard of Oz, showbiz legend Judy Garland (Renée Zellweger) arrives in London to perform a five-week sold-out run at The Talk of the Town. While preparing for the shows, Garland battles with management, reminisces with friends and adoring fans, and embarks on a whirlwind romance with soon-to-be fifth husband Mickey Deans — all while bravely struggling to overcome intensifying anxiety and physical decline. Featuring some of her best-known songs, the film celebrates the unyielding spirit and matchless talent of “the world’s greatest entertainer.”
I haven’t watched “Judy” yet, but I saw how Renée Zellweger swept the film awards season with her portrayal of Judy Garland. I’ve watched her video of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” (pssst…she really does sing in the film) and it’s such a bittersweet and haunting cover.
The Spy Who Dumped Me
Why not add a little levity to your movie watching?
Audrey (Mila Kunis) and Morgan (Kate McKinnon), two thirty-year-old best friends in Los Angeles, are thrust unexpectedly into an international conspiracy when Audrey’s ex-boyfriend shows up at their apartment with a team of deadly assassins on his trail. Surprising even themselves, the duo jump into action, on the run throughout Europe from assassins and a suspicious-but-charming British agent, as they hatch a plan to save the world.
I love watching Mila Kunis in comedies (like Bad Moms). Kate McKinnon is a delight. Whether she’s acting in movies like “Yesterday” or performing sketch comedy in “Saturday Night Live,” Kate McKinnon is an absolute delight!
