Rebecca Hall stars in Searchlight Pictures’ psychological-thriller, “The Night House.” The movie is available now on Blu-ray and DVD. More importantly, it’s available on digital to watch this Halloween weekend!
I watched “The Night House” and found Rebecca’s performance very compelling. Her character really takes you on this nightmare of a journey and there are twists and turns that you will not see coming!
Reeling from the unexpected death of her husband, Beth (Rebecca Hall) is left alone in the lakeside home he built for her. Before long, disturbing visions of a presence in the house begin to beckon her with a ghostly allure. Yearning for answers, she begins digging into her husband’s belongings, only to discover strange and disturbing secrets.
As someone who has dealt with grief (although not of a spouse), I can see how one can succumb to unraveling like Rebecca’s character does, especially as more disturbing news is revealed to her.
One of the characters in the film, a neighbor played by Vondie Curtis-Hall, is one such person who reluctantly tells Beth some information that sends her into a tailspin.
I won’t spoil the move and tell you how it ends. However, I do recommend it and I feel this weekend is a perfect time to watch “The Night House”!
