When I first heard about Rise Nation, I was a little intimidated by the concept but that didn’t stop me from wanting to try it. At Rise Nation, you are working out in a group fitness setting on a VersaClimber, which is a vertical climber machine. After reading the description, I realized that it’s only 30 minutes, so surely I can hang in there for half an hour. As a new customer, my first session is free, so I was ready to rise to the … [Read more...]
Green Apple Active – Lifestyle and Fitness Apparel
I tend to live in my workout clothes. At school drop-off, you’ll see me in my yoga pants or leggings with a loose top or tank. Lately I’ve been looking for an outfit that doesn’t scream “I just got out of my cycle class!” & for one that looks more like casual weekend or lounge wear. It’s important that either top or bottom piece can take me from the gym to a doctor’s appointment to school pick-up. Remember when I went to BlogFest last … [Read more...]
Highlights from #BlogFest at #IdeaWorld
Last week I attended IDEA World Fitness BlogFest with Sweat Pink. I had never been to IDEA World, but I knew it would be a good experience based on what my blogger friends had told me. So I drove to the Convention Center in DTLA for 2 days straight & I have to say that it was an amazing experience. In a nutshell this conference is where food, fitness, nutrition & social media converge all under one roof! Inspiring Speakers There were … [Read more...]
Weightlifting at Novo Body Fitness in Encino

I used to think (many years ago) that I should not lift weights that are heavier than 5 pounds, for fear that I would "bulk up." Now I know … [Read more...]
FXP Hula Hoop Workout
I know from my own experience that if you do not enjoy your workout, then you are less likely to commit to it & be consistent. Personally I like variety & trying new exercise classes. However between work & my daughter’s school schedule, I don’t always have time to hit the gym. So when I heard about FXP Hula Hoop, which is a workout that you can do at home, I decided to give it a whirl! The FXP Hula Hoop Starter Kit comes … [Read more...]
Checking Out Drenched Fitness – aka #BritneysFaveWorkout
Last month I attended an event at Drenched Fitness in Westlake Village. During the class I alternated between running on a treadmill & floor exercises using the HIIT method (high-intensity interval training). All the while, a local DJ played music that kept me motivated & pumped up. The class was a total hit HIIT! Afterwards, much like the studio name implies, I was totally drenched! Fortunately I was able to pull myself together … [Read more...]
