Last month, I attended PopSugar Grounded in Hollywood. It was the last blogger-type event that I attended before the quarantine/shelter-in-place restrictions were instituted in Los Angeles. First let me state for the record, that I purchased my $25 ticket for a half-day session, and I wasn’t obligated to write about this for my blog. However, I had such a fun time that I wanted to share this recap with my readers! When I first arrived … [Read more...]
Friday Feels: 5 Things I’m Into Right Now
It's another edition of "Friday Feels" which is a free-flowing post on 5 things that I'm into right now. What I’m Watching I have high hopes for “Killing Eve” and if the first episode is any indication, then season 3 looks promising. I finished “Ozark” season 3 and that was so much better than season 2. I’m hoping that the same goes for this season of “Killing Eve.” I’m continuing with “Little Fires Everywhere” on Hulu. This show is … [Read more...]
Home Fitness with Hyperwear SandBell
I’ve always been a fan of working out, not just for my physical health but for my emotional well-being and mental health. When I feel anxious or on edge, I take a cycle class. I love the “high” that I get after a good sweat session! So when I (along with everyone else in the country) had to shelter in place, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do for physical activity. I love taking fitness classes at the gym, so I had to get creative when it … [Read more...]
Friday Feels: Our New Normal
So much has changed in the span of a week. Just the other day, I was publishing my opinion piece on “Keeping Calm & Carrying On” when it comes to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). At the time I was feeling that we should remain “business as usual” and to some degree I still do. However I feel like in time, we will all need to start adjust to a new normal. Last night I held an event at StretchLab Granada Hills. I expected cancellations … [Read more...]
The Art of the Brick at California Science Center
Last weekend, the California Science Center premiered its newest exhibit – the Art of the Brick! Featuring over 100 works of art created from over one million LEGO bricks by artist Nathan Sawaya, a former corporate lawyer. My daughter and I were invited to a special viewing for media last Sunday and we were SO impressed with the scale and design of the artwork. It’s truly a must-see! A few years back, my parents went to the Louvre … [Read more...]
Thursday Thoughts: Keep Calm and Carry On – Coronavirus Edition
On a scale of 1 to 10, from mildly concerned to super paranoid, how worried are you about Coronavirus (COVID-19)? Last Thursday, I was probably a 2 or 3 – somewhat concerned but I didn’t give it too much thought since it wasn’t in Los Angeles County (yet) and I practice good hygiene. However, now that there are 6 cases in LA County, I would say that I’m slightly worried at about a 5 or 6. There’s a fine line between being careful and letting … [Read more...]
